Hello ladies.....I'm probably the old lady of the group. The loneliness is cyclic and I'm finding myself in that place once again. I sometimes wonder why I stay. Work is his life, gives him purpose, so I guess I don't? He lives and breathes it. No time left over for me/us. Because he's older it takes it's toll on him physically. So it's work, come home after a 10-12 hour day, vegitate in front of the tv and then crash. We've been empty nesters for 8 years now, moved to Florida for him to take a second job after retiring for 2 years. I have no family here and only acquaintences through church and neighbors. Oh how I wish there was a support group here! I have to fight the loneliness from consuming me.

Man, I wish you lived in idaho! I have been married to my LEO for almost 6 years. We have had issues off and on for the past 2 years with his commitment to work and the cycle of disconnect from his life. It's hard and I cannot imagine being somewhere that you barely know anyone. Loneliness is the worst! I don't know what I can offer other than support!

28 yrs and an absentee dad put a uniform on and said it wasn’t a uniform it was fake to him ? Yet women loved a man in a uniform? Divorced he’s remarried a girlfriend I knew he had . After everything that happens to these officers who are either a good or corrupt.. I wish no harm at all my heart breaks and it’s tearing me up .

Similar situation happened to my grandmother. Her husband (police officer for 25 years) was cheating and being old school Italian she stayed with him. He lived with the mistress and still cheated. Our grandmother passed 6 months ago and he married this mistress a week after. Honestly, i feel you should just move on and keep it civil for your daughter. If you feel he has really changed and isn’t a fit father then that’s another battle that you’ll have to fight

Man I feel the same way. Except I'm still pretty young. Only 24 years old my LEO husband is 27. We've been married for 3 years and together for 2. When I first met him he worked for a prison. When I turned 21 I decided to try my luck at the prison as well. Loved my job and my experience there. Then it closed down and we were forced to relocate. Moved to another prison in another state where we didn't know anyone. Been in this earea for about two years now. The prison we relocated to didn't work out for us for reasons. But he was offered a spot on the sheriff's office. He takes less money but he absolutely loves his job so that's all that counts right? I knew what him and I were signing up for when he got this job but it's still hard to get used to him being gone for way longer than he's supposed to be. We don't have kids nor the time to try for any either. Can't even remember the last time we "tried" it's getting harder to not get upset when he works his normal 8-5 shift then turns around and ends up staying out till 2am working just to turn around again to go back in at 8am. I love him to death but it definitely feels like he loves his job more than me sometimes.

I’m right there with all of you. Together almost 30 years and he retires from the force on Wednesday of this week. Should be smooth sailing, right? Unfortunately, I think we’re probably at the end - there have been so many other women and marriage counseling sessions...yada, yada, yada. I would just like to be with someone that gave a shit about whether I came home for a change or gave unconditional love and support. Someone that always looked for the best in me the way I did in him. I truly don’t even know who he is - definitely not the person I married. Best to all of you.
