Why are women made to be such servants?
I totally messed up the family dynamics by writting a letter to 3 of my inlaws, unaware is my spouse. one family member called me at my job very upset and the other two are not answering calls. the purpose of this letter was to inform them about 'him' and the inability to pay for his addiction and my inability to continue to pay for everything.
i knew he was an alcoholic before we got married. The first thought in my head when he asked was not a yes or no but it was 'can i live each day without nagging about his beer drinking'. been together almost 11 years. sadly more times than not when i offer to help with his relatives - stay out of it is his response. when i try to bring up the budget - he loudly shuts me down.
i have restructured the budget so many times to find a way to pay his credit card debts and other expenses. i cannot - i will not do it anylonger!
the finance company which owns the vehicle he drives calls multiple times daily - no messages. i am sure they want the full payment, since they are only being paid a small amount each month (and this has been going on for at least a year). he seems oblivious to anything domestic.
it has been my income which pays various bills for him and his family - no more... his income will go towards the portion of bills which are his and his families first, then towards his credit card debt, then what is left towards the automobile payment. if it is reposessed - SO BE IT.
as a grown man he should know how to pay attention to spending habits. he was devestated when his ex ran up massive credit card debt forcing him to declare bankrupcy and yet... what is he doing to me now? i have bailed him out twice already but that was when he was working and i had more 'wiggle room' in the budget. he has not worked in over two years and the social security income he has will soon be going away because of a family situation arising (part of the reason for the aforementioned letter).
so tired of robbing peter to pay paul only to have thomas calling and andrew knocking on the door plus simon waiting patiently in line.
there are two kinds of people - the cowbirds and the squirrels. the cowbirds are the party people - the ones that only focus on the daily needs. the squirrels are the ones that are planning and saving and looking in to the future. as you can already identify i am a squirrel - he is a cowbird. no idea what the response will be when the reality of the new budget settles in - not concerned for physical abuse but as we all know there is always verbal abuse to withstand.
the day after i posted we got the notification of 'default of loan' so i left the notice on the table for him to see first thing in the morning.
he had to go ask his mommy & daddy for money ... we will see if it changes his habits.
