Hello.. I am pretty depressed over things tonight. I came from home from work and the AH was drinking of course this led him to get shitty with me. I don't want to be intimate with him and never had wanted to in seven years of marriage. Well you know what.. yeshe's right.. I don't want to be with him. Three affairs he's had on me unbroken promises to get sober the degrading when he's drunk no wonder I feel nothing in that sense... I can't even piece myself together... I work in a pretty stressful job that's always been a point of contention between us and he told me that I put in extra hours to work hard just to lead to an admin position that will only gain me a measly $5000 dollar a year. Keep in mind I already make more than him and pay for a majority of stuff. I bit my lip so hard when he said that I caused myself to bleed. I am so..... sick..... of.. this..shit....
I know exactly how you feel. Although I am recently retired ( a bit early, but I had a minor heart attack )...
I came home from work to a drunk husband almost every day. Some days he fell and put holes in the wall, or tried to hide his vodka on top of the kitchen cupboards and pulled down the whole cabinet, totaled our mustang. Etc..... the stress is often unbearable. I stay for financial reasons, divorce would leave me to struggle for $$ and I’d have to go back into the work force. I won’t let alcohol take anything else away from me. So we sleep in separate rooms. Watch television in separate rooms, And I am working on detachment. I too often have to bite my lip to keep quiet... I’m terrible at it, and beginning not to care of I tell him to **** off.
Just wanted you to know you are not alone.
How devastating to be in situations where the AH looses focus on his wife!
I surprised myself and have maintained my new years resolution - be a dude.
i focus on me and he focus on him.
I was not going to start dinner as soon as i got home from work, i was not going to keep the laundry washed, folded and put away every week, i was not going to do the dishes every night, if i felt like just collapsing on the couch and relaxing i do. no concern for him. he is home and could make own meals, or laundry or dishes.
i did not take him to raise - i agreed to be a partner. if the 'contract' is not held up on his end why should i continue to struggle with my half of the deal.
