Hey asshole! I was only gone for an hour and a half! Do you think I cannot tell you're drinking ? Well I can tell by your facial expression, the way you walk ( like you have a load of shit in your pants ), by your edgy- mean self at the forefront and by the smell of vodka that surrounds you like an aura. Yesterday, kind hearted friends and family came to help us pack and fill a dumpster to help us move, they all worked so very hard just because. And you are in a rage because someone threw out your brand new car duster? No one did! It was not there. I will bet anything you already packed it and on unpacking day... wow!... there it is. Yesterday a good friend and neighbor asked for a dresser who were putting in the dumpster, I said yes of course. She's going to pick it up today BUT now it's noon, you're drinking and she hasn't arrived yet and you need to hate someone. C'mon just stop it! Grow up! Yes I know four days with no vodka was just too much for you. Poor put upon victim that you are. So go ahead, be drunk, be angry, fall off another ladder.... but do not ever again look to me to be your sin eater or your rescuer.
But I won't say a thing.... I won't take the bait. I'm practicing detachment. What I will say is an affirmation of detachment and the serenity prayer. And so it is. Amen.
the things i want to say, i know that. it's great to have an outlet, somewhere to put it down and get it out of you because it eats at you, doesn't it? like acid on the inside. xx
I love this group! And I'm so grateful for the space it gives me and the opportunity to connect with everyone here.
Lol one of the things I used to do was to keep a behavior chart for myself ( in my head) . For every five or so times that I did not react... I gave myself a treat. A new pocketbook, or hair highlights, or a girls night. I kept a little stash of $$.
I might start doing that again.
I think I need to practice detachment to , I wonder are their brains that fried from drinking that they think we're stupid and not notice their drinking!!! my husband came home Late from work AGAIN so I knew where he had been(the pub)he also drove the car , i like you could tell by his eyes and he was staggering even tried to pick a fight with my 14 year old and yet denied drinking but he was very drunk that I don't even realise how he can do it you sound very strong and know how to deal with the situations I wish I could be like that I'm just going to have to try and be like you and not rise to the bait
Suemagoo- I'm not always so great at detachment, it's a freaky concept and I have to get past the feeling of : why do i have to always be the mature one?
But when I'm mindful about it, things are more peaceful FOR ME. And I'm sure my husband passive aggressively looks for confrontation! So if I just stare at him with a blank look and walk away he gives up. Try the reward system!
