I was going through pictures this morning to find a few I could put in the new frames I bought. I could not find a single picture of my husband and I together that he was sober in!!(or of him alone) Holy cow every pic of him for the last few years he is totally hammered in...so sad. So I picked one that he looked not too bad in and put it in a frame...husband see the pic and says ..did you have to pick that picture of me I look drunk in it! I told him to go through the pictures and find one he liked. After about 30 mins he gave up and said he would look later when he had more time. Funny but sad.......

My husband used to ask me why I never took pictures of him. I didn't realize it then, but it was because he always looked trashed, and he was and still is. And you're absolutely right, it's funny but sad.... I have a picture of my husband that is about 28 years old he would have been about 21 years old and he's looking right at me and I think that may have been the last time he truly knew me and perhaps the last time I wanted him to see into my soul. It becomes very hard to be open to someone who clearly doesn't trust you or finds everything suspicious. It's a great picture you can clearly see that we had chemistry and that we didn't need to speak to know what the other was thinking. I miss that.

I especially hate looking through Christmas pictures. He's been drunk every Christmas since the boys were 1 and 4 :(
