Ive now been married to my husband for a year and a half, together 3 years though. I am in my second marriage and have an 8 and 5 year old from my first marriage. In September I had my third child with my husband now who is 5 months. When we first met he was wonderful with my first two children- they equally loved and adored each other. I knew he drank- but usually just a beer, 2 at the most after work. I could talk to him about anything and he was my partner in everything. When I got pregnant last year I noticed he started drinking a little more and he would deny it when I'd mention it. Then after our son was born he started having fits of anger and frustration, yelling at me a lot and then started yelling at my kids. They were shocked by it and continue to say now how mean he is since their brother was born. He started ranting about how they need more discipline and that he always wins. A week ago he went off on my 5 year old saying next time he rough houses he is getting a spanking and then went on a rant about how he was going to "knock him the fuck out no matter what anyone says" and then he just went off in a million different directions that made no sense but all violent and ugly. I lost it at him and told him if it didn't stop he needed to leave for a while and he flat out told me no. Since then I've found hidden beer cans every morning in his truck that he doesn't drive to work...each day I don't know if he will seem himself or if he will be angry and lose his temper fast. I left my last marriage to be happy and so my kids could grow up happy and now this? He denies that he drinks too much, he is sneaky and lying. I don't know how to help him or how to help myself...just feeling very alone. The signs have been there but it's all blaringingly obvious that he is an alcoholic....I miss who I thought I married
I understand completely. Alcohol turns some people into horrible humans.
Can you wait until he is sober and try talking to him or are you afraid to do that?
I have and then he apologizes and acts super sweet until it happens again. Lately I just look at him a lot thinking when was it that I stopped knowing you?
