Wives of Alcoholics Community Group
A forum of healing and help for wives of alcoholics.
I think I've finally reached my breaking point and I don't know where to turn or what to do. I've only been with an alcoholic for 2 years, but it's been the longest 2 years of my life. Constant battles, being hurt time and time again. I've always thought I could fix him without giving any thought to my deteriorating mental health.
At first it was just constantly blacking out until I realized he was in the process of a legal battle stemming from his 2nd dui conviction. The best point in our entire relationship was when he was forced to be electronically monitored, how sad that I was scared for when it came off. But my fears were right as the heavy drinking returned immediately. I don't know how to deal with the enabling friends who drive him around and buy shot after shot.
Soon enough I found out he drunkenly cheated, texted other girls saying the relationship was just a front. My self esteem is zero and I barely want to wake up in the morning. All I'm doing is rambling on. Financially I can't leave. I just don't know what to do. I've painted a perfect picture for my friends and family, I can't talk to anyone and expose this lie I've created for 2 years.
