Hi everyone, I'm new here.
Lets just start at the beginning, when my husband and I started dating, I had just turned 21. So going out to the bars and having parties was fun. Well, honestly I've never been a huge drinker anyways because I just never really felt the need for it. He on the other hand, drank all the time, I guess I never thought anything about it then. Fast forward to 2 years later, were 3 months from our wedding day and I find out I'm expecting a little girl.

I was in the same situation. We were 19 and 20 when we started dating, so everyone drank and went to parties. I never knew he had a problem until 7 months later when we found out I was pregnant and he couldn't stop then he would promise me that he would quit when our daughter was born and that same weekend we brought her home he went out and then fast forward 11 years and 2 more kids later and he is still doing the same things. Only a little different in the sense that I usually know where he's at instead of him disappearing until 5/6 in the morning and getting in some major trouble from drinking, but he now usually always stops by and drinks with his friends for a few hours at least after work and he usually makes it home before 3am but his addiction is now much more than just being young and wanting to have fun. He is an actual alcoholic that can't fight for his family because he's too much invested in his drinking and has so much dependency on it for everyday life. It's a really hard road. Praying for you and your sweet baby that you are going to be welcoming. It's not easy when you think someone will step up to the plate when it's as serious as parenting your children and they don't. It leaves you with so much resentment after years of dealing with it. I hope it's a better experience for you and your little one when she arrives! It's so hard on the kids too.
