Hello! I'm 40 and remarried last year, degree in addition (go figure). Another night my husband came to bed drunk, as as he'd say "buzzed." Is it normal for a husband to rip his wife to shreds, fall asleep and I feel guilty about it. I'm tired of sleeping alone, tonight he went to sleep in his son's room (he's not here) but I have three kids here. He yelled at me and it's always my fault, for the past few years I've always chased him, cried, felt so guilty. Is any of this normal? When he is sober I feel that he truly loves me, when he's drunk he seems like he could card less ig I'm alive.. The weird thing is, he always seem to have real feelings for his kids (blended family) but I'm left to cry alone. I don't know if this is normal or not?
Sadly it is common alcoholic behavior, and it is abuse. Think long & hard about whether you want the rest of your life to be a repeating loop of last night. Unless he quits, it usually gets worse. Bad situation for your kids too. Sending you strength.
