My husband drinks often. I've stated on here before that he's an alcoholic, but, I'm taking that back and saying that he drinks, often. Every day. From the time he gets off work, until he goes to bed. He's never been physically abusive to me, and honestly don't think he ever would be. After 25 years of marriage, and 3 grown kids, 2 of whom still live at home, I'm ready to leave him. I'm SO scared to hurt him and the kids with this news. I always said I wouldn't leave until I had somewhere to go. Well, I found a rental house, and the gentleman who has it is willing to hold it for me. Money will be tight, but, where there's a will, there's a way, right? I don't hate my husband, and I want to remain friends with him and be a team of support for our kids, how in the world do I tell him and the kids that I'm leaving? I'm so scared, been sick all week because of it. On top of this, my daughter has to have a minor surgery the day before Thanksgiving, so, I don't want to leave home before that. I want her to be able to come home from surgery and rest in her own home/bed, not at the rental, this is why the gentleman said he would hold the rental for me. Please, how did you girls handle this when it was your turn??? Maybe I need to post this on another board? I'm just so tired and scared right now.......
You can do it! It is overwhelming but you will get there. You've already done the hard part, making the decision to live the life you want to live. You deserve peace and happiness!
I agree! You CAN do it! Take it one day at a time. Be strong!
My advice on how to tackle telling him and the kids.... release your fears, release your worries. Let it go. It'll just stress you out. Trust in the moment. Know that it'll happen how it's supposed to and you'll be starting on the next chapter of your life.
I know it sounds easier than it really is. We often try to control whatever we can for our own sanity. I promise you though, if you can let it go and just believe that it will turn out how it's supposed to, it will and you'll save yourself the stress.
You are a very strong lady and you deserve peace and quiet not so much stress
I know how good that's feels. I left my husband for awhile but due to his health and mental
Condition I let him come back home....worst thing I ever did . All I hear now is cussing and
Constant negativity it's all his way or no way ..when he messes up it's not his
Fault..oh no...so how it my fault...I have quit going anywhere with him.
I just don't want him going with me. He always finds a way of turning a good thing
Into a terrible things . I wind up being totally stresses.. why I ever backed down I
Needed my butt kicked..I'm stuck and miserable.
I wish you much more success then I know you will love it.
