I'm new here - trying to find any type of help I can get. My husband has gone off a bender a good handful of times in the past 6 or so months. He will either go MIA and I won't hear from him until he's stumbling back in the house or he will lie to me and say he's doing something else. I'm tired of the lack of communication, the lies, having to do everything on my own that carries any responsibility for our family. We have a 16 month old son and I'm always the one who does everything to take care of him. I also work a full time job as well. I'm not a single parent, but I feel like I'm living like I am. It's not all the time, but it's becoming more frequent. We just bought a house, so there's tons of stuff that needs to be done. Yesterday, I get home from work and he's not there. I call and he said he's in a different town about an hour away with a friend and he would be home soon. I called him an hour and a half later, no answer. He responds to none of my texts or calls. I finally call his friend's gf, she tells me they showed up at her work to pick her up late, drunk, with beers in hand. She was following them back home because they were also driving. Then she lost them - got all the way home, she got a call and they said that the car was toast and she needed to come get them. I finally got him to call me, he doesn't deny or confirm any of this. Says "believe her over me", but he never told me anything. He said they didn't wreck the car, but the gf sent me a picture of car and they did. He's always sorry the next morning and knows he messed up and will change. But nothing ever changes, it's getting worse. He doesn't think that he has a problem because his drinking wasn't as bad as it was before when he got his DUI's and went to AA. I don't know what to do.
