My AH quit his job in December. I was supportive at the time...not sure what else I could say b/c if he didn't quit, they were definitely going to fire him and how do you get another job after you've been fired?! So fine, quit. We'll be "ok" for money for a couple months (NOT LONG). It was right before Christmas so he was upset and drank for like 3 days but then pulled himself together and got through the holidays sober. He's been going on a few interviews and has 2 good prospects.
Tonight, I come home. I know something is up because he wouldn't answer the phone when I called on my way home. Last night, he called me 3x on my way home. So I knew..I drive up...all the lights are basically off. It's 5:30p. I see the light of the TV. So I know. I come in..he barely says anything. I open the door of the guest bedroom to grab a sweater I left on the bed. There's the bag with the bottle in it.
I say, "You probably should've told me not to go in there." He says, "why?" I say, "because you left a bottle of wine" (let's just add that he drinks NASTY PORT WINE that his MOTHER used to drink - talk about ISSUES!!!!). He then says, "at least I was honest". Um..NO YOU WERE NOT. You didn't tell me anything, I FOUND THE BOTTLE ASSHOLE!!!!!!! OMG! I am so mad and upset.
REALLY?!?! YOU ARE OUT OF WORK?! TRY CLEANING THE GOD-DAMN HOUSE while I'm at work! Try putting together those shelves you bought me LAST SUMMER that you haven't put together yet.
I am so upset because he texted with me at noon that he got a callback for a final interview. He should've been feeling good! What the hell?! Instead he played Call of Duty all afternoon drinking nasty port wine.
I don't know how long I can do this anymore. My work is really stressful right now and I'm up for a promotion. I can't blow it because I'm coming home to a drunk. Not to mention that my little puppy runs to me every night like he's been ignored all day. I assume he's just traumatized by the freaking loud video games being played all day. They are loud and are all shooting war ones. You're 42, grow up.
sorry ladies..had to vent.
