I just don't know how many more excuses I can roll my eyes at. It seems like everyday is a new one. I don't know if he thinks he's slick or thinks I am stupid, his first beer of the day starts with a cough to try to disguise him opening a can. C'mon - really? I am so tired of being the adult- worrying about saving money. He claims he loves me - but I guess I am a little selfish- If I was doing something that hurt him & he told me- I would try not to. Yet he buys a case (a 24 pk) everday. I don't know if I am strong enough to go through this again. I am just so tired of being the adult in the house. I feel like a den mother in a frat house - I am forever cleaning up cans & picking up trash, laundry etc.
I think it makes them feel like they are hiding it but deep down they know you know. Or their minds are soaked with alcohol so they actually think they are being slick.
CeeCee, It blows my mind also. My AH keeps his bottle in the cubbie in his recliner chair. I will walk into the room and catch him drinking it. He's like a child getting caught with his hand in a cookie jar! I have to turn around to keep him from seeing me laugh. I'm sorry but its so stupid, why not be open if your so determined???
Thanks everyone. I am so glad that I have found this group. I really don't know what's worse- his drinking or when there's no extra funds for it. He walks around the house like a spoiled toddler having a tantrum. He's decided that since there's no more beer- he was going to take a nap; mind you it's nearly 5 pm.
Ok this makes me feel better (or worse??) I can tell the second my husband walks in the door if he's drunk or not. But he claims he's not every time. Found countless bottles in his car, walked into the garage to him over a bottle in a paper bag coughing when he realized I saw. Still denied. They are just idiots. I'm just slowly saving, enjoying my daughter (and the fact that she sees him all of 30 min a day due to his schedule) and ignoring him when he's an idiot drunk.
It is crazy when they think we don't know. Crazier is that they are lying to themselves.
What does it matter if I see it or not, I already know. I know him better than he knows himself , most of us do.

He would get a stupor look in his eye and act all sloppy. So ugly and yucky. I'm glad he has been sober now.
