Is there anyone else whose husband drinks beer at home after work?
But as he drinks you know he's emotionally is leaving. Do you feel abandoned?

I know that feeling all too well. My AH used to drink 6-8 beers after work per night. I always felt very alone and left behind. I'm sorry for your pain because I have lived it, as many, if not all of us here have. Hugs and prayers.

My AH doesn't think drinking 8-10 beers every night is a problem. He says it helps him relax and wind down. I am fed up. I grew up in a home with alcoholic parents. I have expressed to my husband time and time again how his drinking hurts me. He will quit for a few days and then start up again or go out to the garage and slam a few beers, thinking i don't know. I am ready to walk away.

My husband drinks about 8-10 beers a night. He first tells me it's not a problem stopped for a week. One night I can home about an hour after him and he was drunk. He said it was my fault he drank and I'm the reason he drinks. I know it's not my fault. But when he continues to tell me it is I'm starting to believe it. It hurts our son sees the arguing, the drinking, and the crying. I try to stay so strong for him but it's just emotionally draining and I just can't deal sometimes. We have been married for 6 years I'm ready to walk away. To make it worse he is also addicted to prescription pills has been before we even dated. The drinking started two years ago. I have no one to talk to. It gets so hard sometimes

It was never your fault. He was an addict before you met. He is just trying to manipulate you and make you feel as bad as he does. You are stronger than you know. You have lived with this and taken care of your son. Hold onto that and you will find you are stronger than you think, and don't need to be in this situation anymore. May God protect and bless you and your son. You always have a place to talk here.

It's really hard to just sit and watch him spiral again. Just with a different addiction. I feel bad because their relationship is so close and taking our son away from him makes me sad. But he also doesn't deserve to see his dad like this.

Mine drinks a 12 pack a night. He's "cutting back" when he buys a cheaper beer. It's lonely being in a house with someone we "checks out" every night.

I got to a point where I didn't care if he checked out every night. It got to be such the norm in my life, that I just looked forward to it because then the boys and I could just go on with our night, doing what we do.
