Wives of Alcoholics Community Group
A forum of healing and help for wives of alcoholics.
This is my first post. My husband is an alcoholic. It's no secret to anyone. At least 4 days out of the week its the same routine. He get off work and will go to the garage and drink for hours (vodka and beer). He then come out around 9 or 10 at night, eat and then sleep. Our son (17) and I walk on eggshells because the smallest thing will set him off and will become verbally abusive. On evenings when he dont drink, he spends the remainder of day in the bedroom watching tv. I have recently moved my belongings and sleep in the spare bedroom because I want to avoid his path of sight. He does nothing to support duties in household including cooking, cleaning, yard work and repairs. He will complain if he has to do something as small as take the trash out. We both work full-time, so bills are paid. Everything else is left to me and blamed if something fails. He will tell me often "I am his problem", but sobers days is loving and kind. Our son wants nothing to do with him and expresses his dislike of his dad. I have no one close to take to. Both sides of our family suffer from alcoholism and viewed as a normal part of life. I'm very close to walking out because my anxiety is so bad I've started pulling my hair out and CONSTANTLY worried. That's all for now...
