my husband left for rehab Wednesday. We have a 2 year old and it's been ruff to say the least. I've never been so afraid in my life. It's like how in the hell did this happen to my life? And why didn't pay attention to the signs. Right now I hate him, but I feel so relieved that he went. Ugh
You probably did see the signs, but ignored them for one reason or the other. Take this time to re-evaluate the situation, your feelings and how you want your future to look like. Enjoy the peace and your little one for awhile.
I have a 2 year old also! It sucks doesn't it?! I feel like we should be this young, happy family but instead our happiness is ruined by addiction. My husband never wants to do anything as a family. I feel alone, resentful, furious, sad, and lost! I'm here if you ever want to chat! Sounds like we have some things in common. And to be honest, I had no idea my husband was a full blown alcoholic until recently! I'm such a fool! Sending you hugs and strength!

Thsnks for the support! Right now I can't stand him or trust him . I'm very bitter and feel alone.. I'm trying to stay positive and just let him find himself.
Addiction sucks. I've never alternately loved or hated somebody so much in my entire life. I know the reason my husband is an addict is because he's depressed. He uses alcohol to numb himself from daily struggles. When we had a big discussion the other day, he said "it would be so much easier if I wasn't even here". The part of me that loves him thinks that's not true at all! But the part of me that hates him agrees and wishes he would just leave. The horrible part is being torn between the love and hate. If only the good times weren't, well, SO good. We didn't pay attention to the signs in the beginning because of the love. Hopefully we'll be able to work ourselves around back to that place again where the addiction isn't at the forefront of the marriage. Virtual ((hugs)) to you ladies. :'(
There is no hope in my situation. Things have gotten to the point of no return. Too much pain and damage has been done. Too many rough patches to remember the few good times that we had. I wish the best for anyone who still has a chance.
I am in the same boat ladies. I have 3 kids and one on the way and finally had to walk away Christmas day when he drove drunk with the kids in the car.....hugs ladies
I have a 2 year old as well and am trying to figure out what to do, what I want...do I give it a chance to get better? What can I live with? Am I delaying the inevitable? I have to say I'm a little envious in a sense that your husband has gone to rehab...that I know will never be an option for mine. So happy for your family that he is taking that step but know that does not heal all. Wish you the best!
