My partner is a funtioning alcoholic when he has to work, other than that on his days off he drinks way too much blaming me or other stresses of life. He drinks two bottles of Red wine daily. He even hides alcohol in his work bag and is very agressive once he starts drinking.
He has been talking about the same thing all day in between him laying in bed because he is drunk. I asked him several times politely to drop it.
I felt physiology tormented. Even after I expressed this to him. He kept repeating himself. I started shouting at him to leave me alone.
A bit of back and forth arguing went on, now he has gone back to bed drunk like nothing has happened.
Leaving me feeling awful because I was pushed to the point of intense verbal.
Do others experience similar instances?.
What would you do to defuse the situation?.
I have tried to shift my focus and he is my true love.
Earlier on today while getting ready he fell out of the bath this frightend me.

Always a huge burden living with an alcoholic. You may try and detach yourself. Don’t get caught up in arguing with him when he is drunk. Get yourself out of the house to escape it. Run errands or something. When he starts to argue or annoy you take a step back and look at the situation like you are an outsider observing this thing. Don’t fuel the fire by engaging in his crazy making.
