Ok...maybe I'm dumb here...and I know this isn't quite the forum to discuss this...but can someone tell me how to start a group? I am married to an alcoholic and I find a lot of solace in this group...but I do find myself to be a bit of the odd one out. My husband has been in AA and is doing very, very well. I am so proud of him. I am not oblivious to the fact that he could fail, but I am not living life waiting for it. I would like to start a group for spouses of people who are active in treatment. I find myself facing different day to day issues and would love some others to discuss it with. Like I said, I love reading the posts on this group...I feel less alone...but it isn't a perfect fit. I just can't figure out how to start a group...
I think it would be very useful to start a group for spouses of recovering alcoholics.
Certainly the issues are different than many of the issues discussed in this group.
I am very happy for you that your husband is in recovery--I wish you both great success and much happiness.

To start a new group, go to this page: http://www.dailystrength.org/support-groups
Scroll down a little and on the right bottom part of the page there is a yellow button that says CREATE A GROUP.
Good luck--may your new group be a blessing to many others!
Thanks for creating the group - I joined :)
