I'm trying so hard not loose it! I found last night that my AH has been messaging his ex wife. We've been together 31 yrs so it's been about 33 yrs since he was with her. The messages started out innocent but as soon as he told her we were having problems it started to turn in to a conversation of the 2 of them. How they missed each other to him asking for sexy pictures. She lives out of the area but told him she would be in town next week and could have lunch. She then started sending him pictures of them together back in the day. I couldn't find pictures of my life before my husband in that short of time this conversation had been going on. So why does she just have these sitting close by??? As they reminisced I caught myself thinking of how i was gonna wake him up and completely go postal on him. Then I thought for a second... is this my way out? Should I hold off confronting him to see how far he takes this? I've always joked that it would be a blessing to have another woman come in and take him at least I would loose him to another human instead of alcohol! I don't wanna sound shallow I love this man and I've been there all these years taking care of him he's the father of my kids. But am I in love with him do I need him so bad in my life that I stop this. I'm much more confused today than I was yesterday now! The thing that hurts the most is he never told her that his drinking was the reason were having marital problems. He blamed me with having a hard time dealing with the death of my step father n sister within a year. I'm sorry for rambling I just don't know I'm asking u all for ur opinion. I have a guy friend (just friend ) that moved away last year and we still text. He's been a good listener and yes I do care about him but as far as having a relationship that's not what either of us wanted because I'm married I could have but we both knew it wasn't right. I'm letting my quilt over come me right now thinking I'm doing basically what my AH is doing. I'm looking for that person to make me feel special and to let me know that I can go on in life with or with out him. But then I never had a sexual relationship or a past were just friends. This is his ex wife! Is it different? Should I just let him have this one? Should I hold off or should I say I know?
It's horrible when they blame us for the problems, to other people. They trash-talk us to anyone who will listen. And unfortunately some of these people will believe them. We have to just let go of that. We know who we are. Our AHs couldn't possibly admit the truth. If they did, they might feel they have to change, and that would mean no more drinking.
Ask God for guidance and just let this all unfold. This could be God's very gentle way of rescuing you. Sending hugs!
