Big Little Lies

Good evening everyone,


Recently I watched Big Little Lies on HBO. Needless to say it was an intense series and it focused on women dealing with abuse, rape, and adultry. These women put on one face in a public arena and a completely different one in private. It hit home to me dealing with the A.H. There are so many times, I have gone through nights of hell with him and got up, cried and gone to work the next day putting a friendly smile on my face and carrying on. Meanwhile, I just want to scream out loud, when asked what's wrong.. "My husband is an alcoholic and I just spent all night endurung his verbal abuse, disappearing, having to go and get his ass at the magistrates office ect..." It's so hard because I feel like there's just noone there. Do any of you experience this?

I know exactly how you feel!! Some days all I can do is just smile and try to get thru the day and try not to break down. Some days I do break down. I’ve been working out and going tanning. It’s been my little escape. I only tan for like 5 minuets so I pick up my mom and she waits in the car with my kids. I do a workout dvd I got at goodwill for super cheap. I feel like it’s really been helping my mindset. At home life still sucks but I at least feel better while I’m tanning and while I’m working out. I’d suggest it for all my fellow wives dealing with crazy AH’s. Any little escape helps! We have to do what we can to keep our sanity somehow!! Hang in there dear! It’s an eff’d up life we live. I've also started working out, I tried to set a goal of 3 days a week for an hour but happy if I make it once a week, put on head phones and block everything out! and I also tan for 10 mins. Its so peaceful to lay down and not have anything or anyone to bother u! Singer for so many years I worked with an office full of women and only a couple close to me knew just what I was going through at home with my AH. Now I work in a different environment working in my brothers business thats mostly family. My niece is the only female and I practicality raised her through her teen years so she knows our life and I can't hide from her the bad days! I've spent the last 2 nights at my daughters so I could get some rest, going home tonight so I dread to see what he has in store! Hang in there sending hugs and prayers!

I feel like you’re describing my life. There have been so many days that’s I had to put a smile on my face, been late for work, had to call-in to work because the AH couldn’t watch the kids, etc. and have to lie to my co-workers. I just have to put a smile on my face and pretend my life is totally different. I want so badly to scream out that my night was terrible...that my kids and I couldn’t sleep from the AH keeping us awake all night long, etc. I also started working out on my lunch break with my coworkers. I too put in my head phones and disappear. I already dread the weekend starting because I know that my AH will be off work and will get hammered. I wish he worked 7 days/week. He says we are having breakfast with my family on Sunday. We shall see how drunk he is when we get up that morning. Much love to all of you ❤️
