This weekend my husband managed to round up people just like himself and bring them back to my house. Argghh. And of course big spender bought booze for everyone and had the nerve to ask me to make them all something to eat. No way. I did order pizza because food often makes them tired. Worse yet, while I'm completely anti-drunk driving, he offered them up our couch for the night so they wouldn't drive. Not happening. I would never sleep with drunk strangers having run of my house. I politely offered to drive them home and make arrangements for them to get their cars in the morning. Wait till he wakes up today and I have a sober hour of two.
That's so insane...brings back horrible memories. One evening when I got home from work and my ah had a house full of drunks and a big tough drunk woman followed me into MY bedroom trying to pick a fight, I just lost it and began packing allll of my belongings into my cargo van while he sent most, but not all of the drunks away who kept slurring accolades at me as I methodically packed my furniture, pictures, clothes, and cupboards into my van...and moved out of my ...MY own home! was it over then? NO...because I let him come back every time and went through many more insane scenarios thru the years, some mental breakdowns a few times.....I actually really hate alcohol! .in a few days will be 6 months since he was found on a sidewalk unresponsive. ..and died.....and yes, it is painful. With all the years of jekyll and hyde, and guarded feelings. I'm glad for this site even though I didn't find it till after he died, because I can finally unravel and figure out some things. I feel soooo much for what you all are going through...yes, it's a relief to not have to endure more now....but it definitely leaves permanent scars.
Sending hugs, and prayers for wisdom and strength.
You have my love and support.
