Yup he is sober 3 days now. He has not had any withdrawal that I have noticed. He drinks 3-4 cases of beer a week...that's 24 beer in a case here in Canada up to 96 beer per week... so I thought he would have some kind of withdrawal by now. From what I have read online he should be. Anyone thoughts guys?

Not all have withdrawal..My ah did this time but he had been drinking a 12 to 18 pack for years..the last time he quit for about 6 months 10 years ago..he did not have withdrawel symptoms other than being irritable..Still I think one is taking a chance not being hospitalized while detoxing. This time My ah has been sober since Jan 12 this year..

My AH is just now starting today with being sober. He would drink a case and a half and a bottle a day. So far he has had the shakes and has been gagging and that is about it. I am hoping that is all I have to deal with. When my AH detoxed before he went threw bad withdraws and ended up in the ICU. If he hasn't had any now, then I would think he would be okay, but I would still keep an eye out for them. On the day that I almost picked my AH up from detox, I had called to see how he was doing and he was talking to me but not making any sense. He was telling me he was excited to get out of detox so that he could smoke his "cinnamon cigs" I was trying to tell him that there was no such thing but he was very determined that there was. I got off the phone with him and call the staff and told them I was not going to pick him up that day because something didn't seem right and that I wanted them to keep an eye on him for one more night. Thank god O did what I did because he was taking by ambulance to the hospital. Now I am not trying to scare you and say that this will happen but sometimes it can happen after so many days. I hope that things continue on a good path for him and you.

I heard that night sweats are also a form of withdrawal. Likely there's a range of symptoms from mild to severe. It always good to be under medical supervision when doing this, just in case.
