Has AH ever been physically abusive? I just had this experience today he got so frustrated the morning after heavy drinking...still seemingly intoxicated and hit me. I dont have any money to just exit the relationship. I'm getting my plan together to leave him and focusing on myself to going back to school to get a job to support my child. I find myself googling ways to kill an alcoholic. Knowing I wont act on it but it remains a feeling or thought in my head.
Oh my gosh, my heart just breaks for you. I’ve never had any physical abuse, so I don’t know how to give you advice. I know you are working on a plan to leave. Keep at it and get out as soon as you can. If he has started to get physical, chances are it will happen again. Try to accelerate your plan. You know as well as I do, it won’t get any better! Take good care of yourself. Keep yourself busy and stay away from the house as much as you can. Hugs!
My heart hurts for you....keep working on your plan, but try and do some research and have something in place in case his behavior escalates. The priority is for you and your child to stay safe. dkay206 gave good advice....definitely try and stay far away from him when he is drinking. Wishing all the best for you...Hugs
I wish you a speedy escape, I never was the punching bag. But I have been on the receiving end of my o/h rants. They are not nice. And can be soul destroying. Take care
Mine was abusive once years ago. But that was in a time when I was also drinking. Now it is more the mental game. But I would definitely be planning my escape. Do you live in a town where you could find help to get out?? I would have called the cops when he hit me and let him detox in jail. I know that putting them in jail sometimes makes things worse but you do not deserve to be hit.
Yes actually. And this is gonna make me sound like an absolute moron. He threw me down one morning, after drinking, one week before we got married. Fractured my hip. And my question to the ER doctor was if I could still get on a plane to go to our wedding. Guess I am asking for it!
Kpani23 we are all with an abusive partner..rather its physical or emotional. We understand each other and I appreciate your honesty..it really helps to know you're no alone. My AH is not the type to be abusive. Its only when he's been hours of drinking to the point he doesnt believe me when I mention it to him when hes sober. I could tio him over with my fingernail and he would fall when he has drank too much so I dont feel like I'm in harm's way. Since it happened twice though it just bought a question is this apart of alcoholics. I guess...anything irrational is apart of alcoholics. I hope to get out soon..I took the advice of just avoiding him completely when he has been drinking..instead of confrontation like I use to because I would just get so upset of how carried away he got .it only escalate things and I never get anywhere anyway. I had to set boundaries that he isnt allowed to drink while we were all awake so he doesnt late at night once everyone is sleep. I still dont feel completely comfortable not knowing what I'll wake up to...which is why I need to get out
I had physical abuse in my past with a ex, I went to a domestic violence organisation was my first call. They found me some where safe to go.
