I know that isn't very funny but it is how I feel right now. I don't mean to sound a bit flippant. But I gotta throw in a laugh here and there. I am really tired to crying.
I wasn't going to post this as I feel like I keep bugging you all. However,
IT JUST KEEPS COMING!!!!
We had an upset over the weekend. Dennis's neck started to swell and there was a large knot on the side. Went to Urgent Care saw Dr. Jerk...(not his name) His was totally rude and disinterested. Told us to put heat on it. 20 min on 20 min off. 4 hours later the swelling had increased 100 fold. Called Dennis's Doctor on Monday (1 1/2 hours away). He said to come immediately. Which we did....He scheduled us for a CT scan on Tuesday then another one on Wednesday. There is a 4 X 4.5 cm mass in there. Dr. then informed us he wanted a Ct Guided Biopsy done STAT. STAT in this case means some time after Tuesday the 7th.
As we get more information I will keep you informed.

A sweet thing happened today. A friend of ours sent me a message saying they were coming over so I could run some errands if I needed. No one asked them to. This is what prayer does....Thank You, Lord and my ladies. I can still leave Dennis alone for a small bit but I admit I feel better this way.
Try not to think about the big C; life is too short to worry. I know it's hard but you have to remain optimistic. From what you've described it sounds like the tumor is in a very operable area. And it's a single mass 4.5 cm. Not a mass with more masses in the various glands in the neck. It's also in an area where radiation therapy could be quite successful. Chemo is not used on every cancer. They tend to use it on aggressive cancers and cancers where they need to shrink the size of the tumors or contain the area of cancer. Mine is in an area they can't do anymore surgically and were hopeful to reduce the size in hopes of seeing me go into remission or buying me more time through chemo. The only way to know if chemo is the route to go for you is to go through round one. It is a life changing experience for the patient and their support system. You discover things about yourselves you never knew. Many find the resolve and strength they never knew they had and can fight. I've seen some of the physically weakest people do this. Others find they don't have the resolve, support, strength and find peace in deciding to stop and let nature take it's course. But you'll never know what type you are till you go through a round. If I had been a betting person I would've bet I'd find myself in the prior group rather than the latter. I've always been a fighter. For heavens sake I was a woman pilot in a mans career world. But I found that getting through chemo alone was something I just couldn't do and am at a strange peace with that decision. But don't worry about or travel that road unless you have to and I see other options available to you. You and Dennis will remain in my prayers. ((HUGS))
We will be waiting for the biopsy before we make any decisions. IF it is cancerous the Dennis and the Doctor will make the best decision for him.
You are not bothering anyone by asking for prayers, that's what we are here for, to support one another when needed. I hope and pray that all goes well for Dennis.
