At my Greek wedding the families threw candied nuts at the happy couple, more like missles if you ask me - I let hubby take the full force of those candied nuts, its was his culture after all!

Out of curiosity (because I love learning) I looked it up on google, the worst one was an ancient tradition by the Irish who threw pots and pans at the newly weds. I reckon we would all be ducking at that one lol

That irish custome made me laugh, guess I got off lightly with candied nuts being thrown! Yes Sharon, plates were broken at the reception - my non - greek friends thought it was such fun!

I can understand that Ziporah I think it would be fun too, I hope they weren't the ones you were bought as wedding presents.
