They knew a lovely, elderly woman from church who was named Bonita. Dad didn't really like the name but they both agreed on Bonnie. My middle name was from my paternal grandmother. I guess they hoped I would be as nice as the lady from church....not sure I measured up a lot of the time! lol

My Mum liked the name Nicola, but then her young uncle and his wife had a baby the year before me and named her that, so she had to choose something else, she liked Helen, but there was a nasty person in her office called that, so then her best friend said, well what about Helena, so there i was..lol.. I dont get called it much though, as i have 3 nicknames...But my God children call it me prefixed by Aunite, and my Mum alternates between it and my nickname,....... my dad and all his family use my one nickname, and my hubby and his family too.. In fact some of his family dont know my real name. XXXXXXX

My first name - I don't know. But my middle name is Gene - I just use Jean here. My father's name was Gene. I've always been very proud to have been named after him.

I was named after my great great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth. After I was born my Dad shortened it to Mary Beth. He thought Mary Elizabeth was too long.

Well my name is Sharon which I was told she chose from The Bible's "Rose of Sharon"

I named my second son after my first high school boyfriend, the first person I ever kissed (romantically)

No idea really.I don't think my dad cared much. All I know is that myt mom originally wanted my current middle name to be my first name but thought it would be too hard for an elementary schooler to learn to write so she switched it to my middle name and gave me a shorter first name.

I had the audacity to be born on my Aunts birthday.

I'm actually named after my father, except that his is spelled Gene, mine is Jean, actually his name is Eugene and he wanted to name me Eugenia, thank God for mom!!

I don't know about my first name but my second name Denise was after my dad Dennis.
