I knew they had split and that he had had an affair but didn't know it was more than one and that he had a child with someone other than his wife. I am surprised the marriage got to their Silver Ann.

I got to 23 years and realised that if I didn't get out at that point everyone would want to celebrate our Silver Ann. and I didn't want to do that knowing that I was not going to stay I thought it would have been a bit hypocritical really so I did just that, I got out, although I might have got some nice presents if I had stayed

they probably had some kind of pre-nup agreement so he couldn't get any of the Shriver family money. It's bad that he cheated on Maria, worse that the other woman got pregnant, but does that make him a bad person? I think just stupid, poor decisions on his part. He probably waited to go public until his legitimate children were older so as not to tear the family apart when they were younger. I feel sorry for the other son, his world has been hugely impacted too.

So answer this, why is it that in countries outside of the US, is this much more accepted? Or at least tolerated? Obviously human nature is the same all over, but it seems we are much less forgiving.

I am from the UK and it is no less acceptable here than it is where you are, the celebrities here seem to have found ways of covering it up more, we don't have quite the freedom of press that you do as the recent issue with a certain footballer has proved. I don't know how acceptable it is in other countries but it gets the same reaction here as it does where you are, that is of course when we find out about it.

There is a huge battle going on here at the moment about freedom of speech and freedom of the press. It is a hard thing to balance as we don't like the press to bother our Royal Family too much especially after what happened with Princess Diana but we do like to know what the celebs or even more, the politicians, are up to, I guess we can't have it both ways and that's where it gets complicated, for example you have cameras in your courts, they are still not allowed in ours. Facts about this sort of behaviour once they are found out about are not tolerated by the general population as a rule.

I think KM that it is sad whenever this sort of thing happens but it must be worse when a celebrity is involved because the whole world finds out not just friends and family and the impact on children involved must be so much worse.

I love Maria, such a strong woman and I definitely don't judge her for leavng him, don't think Maria is the kind to share her man and why should she!. On the other hand Arnie did the right thing and made sure his son and his son's mother were well looked after - doesn't make what he did right but at least he didn't abandon them.
