Money.

I also feel that alot of people are driven by money, and associate happiness with aquiring more of it.

However I am meeting many people who are desperately seeking a significiant other, someone to love and be loved by. A kind caring person to grow old with.

Acceptance, so many of us desperately want to fit in, and seek to be part of "the group".

I think it is LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE that keeps many of us going.

I have lived with alot and very little money, I have lived with with little and much love. I like and need the love, money has a purpose, but LOVE is everything, in so many, many ways.

Willian Howells (American) wrote that "people wish to have and to shine because having and shining are held up to them by civilisation as being the chief good in life" - might be a mistake in that quote as I typed it from memory but I do think that people are driven by having and shining. However like dreamsicle I've come across people for whom loving and being loved by someone is just so much more important. For me loving family and friends and being loved and cared for in return beats the materialistic world we live in.

I agree with MaryBeth too many of us are focused on money

To know their purpose in life.

Seems people search their whole life through trying to find why they exsist. Many try to fill the need with money and prestige, love, admiration from others and doing good.

For me, I feel that I am here to reach out to others and help make life's burdens a little lighter. I feel this passion comes from God.

I am the most happiest and content when I am fufilling this.

I really don't know what drives other people in life,,,I only know what drives my life ,,,and it's not money,,it's the love of God and family,,,that old saying "We can't take it with us" ,,,BUT our relationships live on forever... With all the ugliness in the world I would hope that being kind, helping others and loving those in our life is what is most important to people...
