Yes we had two dogs (Yorkshire Terriers), a Cat who had three kittens but we didnt' keep them and then we had rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. As well as that I had hamsters and my sister had gerbils. I used to breed the hamsters and they were so cute when they were tiny like tiny coloured bits of bubblegum lol.

Yes,we had two beagles and two border collies. The collies were used to round up the cows and bring them to the barn. I loved playing frisbee with the collies. The beagles were too lazy to play.

Yers, my mother owned a flower shop/ pet store for a while also we lived on a farm. We always had some kind of pet.

WE had all kinds of animals; mostly cats but we had turtles, fish, later we had horses, gerbils, mice and a dog. I was raised to love animals. That's gotten me into a lot of trouble over the years with people who don't share that, but I like animals better than most people. They're more honest and treat you better. I've never been stabbed in the back by an animal. People, that's another story.

Oh Lord yes! Not only the usual dogs, but also a pet crow named Henry, a squirrel named Cheeters, and a raccoon named (very original) Bandit. But my very favorite was my white mouse, that I carried in my uniform pocket to school every day, named Algernon. I used to let him lose in the nuns lunch room just to see them lift up their habits and scream! Needless to say, I served a lot of detention.

Hey AL I agree with you animals only hurt you if you hurt them first and even then they put up with a lot before they do. People are a different story

I loved your answer Erin, I could imagine the nuns running around standing on chairs scared of a mouse. I remember when I was packing fruit there was a lady who started screaming and so others gathered to see what it was and they started screaming, I expected to find a huge spider or something weird and all it was was a tiny little frog, I picked it up and the ladies all freaked out, I then let him outside where he belonged but I did find it funny that a group of grown women were terrified of a frog. Spiders I understand although I like spiders but I didn't understand being afraid of a frog that wasn't even moving lol.

Then when first married had birds, chinchillas and chipmunks too.. i just love animals, i took all the sick ones or abandoned ones, still like it now, particularity with birds..I love my three dogs they are my babies, and i cat imagine not having them in my family or the other pets i treasured growing up. Yes, growing up we had a little dog, and we had numerous cats. My dad's garage was sanctuary to any abused or abandoned kitties. They seemed to know he would be kind to them, and he was. He would buy various stinky fish to lure in the injured and abused. Once in they had a home, he fixed them warm beds and made sure they had food and water.

I believe I got my love of animals from my dad, and I thank him for it.
