Taking myself off to Lincoln (UK) every two months to stay and study at The Worship Academy run by Chris Bowater and Andy Bromley, for those on the site who might know who they are, for those who don't they are very well known Christian song writers and Worship Leaders both involved in a big event here every year called Grapevine in Lincoln. I don't like travelling much, I knew I was going to have to share a room, hated the thought of that, turned out she was lovely and we got on great and I don't like big groups so for me it was an adventure, a very scary one, I had to catch a train from where I live to London, get across London, get another train to Nuneaton and a bus after that, probably not a long journey compared to what many Americans do but for me it was a huge achievement and I was so blessed to be a part of it. I met people from all over the country including Ireland and some people from America too

Good for you Angelglory! I bet u felt much more confidence in yourself! I'm proud of you.

The most "adventurous" things I guess I've done is rock climb 2x w/ a balaer and ropelled. And also took a hot air balloon ride. This is good for me b/c I am afraid of heights.

Not that adventurous really, haven't had many, few road trips when hubby and i were first together.. Had lots of adventures rescuing animals.. They seem to wait for me to turn up..lol. XXX

I like that Clay it made me chuckle, perhaps they know that you aren't adventurous. Hey I definitely won't be rock climbing Sun I too am afraid of heights but still would love to do a balloon ride, my daughters boyfriend brought her one for her birthday last year and she still hasn't had it, the two of them will be going together but our weather is a bit difficult and it can take a few times of phoning to find the right time to go. I gained a lot of confidence and the stuff we had to do while we were there was scary too. We were put into groups of people who we didn't know and the 1st group (not ours I was pleased to say) had to lead worship on Sunday and as we had seminars and teaching on the Friday night and most of the day Saturday they had to bond quickly so they could work together on Sunday morning and we all came from different denominations from Strict Catholic to Free Churches so it was an interesting challenge and it worked brilliantly. Sorry I wrote a book instead of just a post lol

Gosh I , know, I meant to say Sun, i dont like heights and i just admire that you did that.. Dont think I could.. I went up in a glass elevator a few weeks ago and nearly fainted lol.......... My step dad got bought a balloon ride, it is difficult with our weatehr Sharon, but he loved it... the pics he took were great...Loved reading about your worship course Sharon.. I think you did amazingly well.. I wouldn't have felt all that confident, i must admit, so please it was lovely for you and worth it. Sounds wonderful .. XXX

I delivered newspapers in TWO hurricanes (once when I was 12 the other when I was 20) and dragged myself to work during blizzards and ice storms. Once rode my horse 4 miles from the stable to the apartment complex we were living in. That was fun.

Angelglory... I think that many of u from different denominations came together is very awesome. I think there is much to learn from other denominations even if we do not agree w/ all of them... we can still learn something and glean knowledge. That's an awesome challenge.

ALC... the challenge of weather and Mother Nature is definantly adventurous!!!

I have hiked many many miles in the canyon in Texas (alone b/c no one wld go with) There are no cell phone signals there b/c it's low in the ground. Only got lost one time, finally found the trail head but was so dehydrated that they had to call am ambulance~! HA. I went back 3 wks later and did it AGAIN to prove that I could! Just wasn't going to end on a bad note!

Ok AL and Sun, the pair of you are really brave or officially nuts, that lot sounds really scary. I do however have an urge to see a volcano as I think I may have mentioned before. We only ever had one hurricane here and it was nowhere near as severe as what you have where you come from but you wouldn't catch me going out in it. My husband took our dogs out for a walk when it was over and he had to dodge jumping electric cables that had come down in the storm.

I am terrible for directions, I get lost in the town where I live, you stick me in a canyon and I would be finished.

Sun it was amazing how despite the differences between denominations nobody noticed, we just loved it, I did however feel very scared and challenged all at the same time.

Challenge sometimes comes w/ fear... I think that's why it is sometimes important to challenge ourselves to expand our boundaries and stretch ourselves... It doesn't have to be physical... it can be mental, spiritual, or in knowledge. It's just sometimes healthy, I think.

I think we are all brave women.... !!!
