I have smoked almost 40 years...
I tried to quit several times, over the years with no little to no success, but this time was different.
I didn't want to quit but I was tired of the cigarettes being in control of me, the nasty smell, the expense, life in general was a trigger to light up, having to remove myself from people to go light up, socially unacceptable, and my health issues was enough to finally decide that I was done with smoking.
I went and purchased Nicorette lozenges and gum, and it's been 3 weeks since I smoked a cigarette!
It hasn't been easy!! There have been days I've come very close to breaking down and buying a pack, but think about lighting up, the awful taste and coughing my lungs out, wouldn't be very satisfying.
I ultimately think about the shame I would feel and these 3 weeks of suffering would have been for nothing.

What a learning curve ,learning how to deal with so many aspects of our lives that we used smoking for .
I quit 2011.
Keep up the good work ---all craves no matter the intensity will pass smoke free as long as we never put a cigarette to our mouths .
Sometimes there is a battle , like tug of war, we used to play as kids -------but winning against a cigarette opponent as an adullt is as eas yas dropping the rope and letting that life sucking cigarette fall flat on his face or #^%*& ( your choice) LOL and you win ...
.so don't battle, let go of the rope .
