Wow so emotional but what a tribute to him..
They had the arena set up lovely over 150 showed up to pay their respects to him. The CBSA Customs Border Security Association had an honour guard changing guards every half hour.. So touching and the head of the CBSA plays the bagpipes and he played.. The CEO of the Bridge said some lovely words about Ken as did the heads of other departments.. My sister got up and told how she had wanted to keep Ken as a pet but as she was married her husband wouldn't let her so she had to marry him into the family and introduced him to me.. I thank her every day.. They worked together at that time.. His oldest sister got up and spoke also then our granddaughters got up and the oldest told how her Poppa was her hero and would always be and our youngest told how she didn't get got kiss or say good bye to him but would always miss him.. and a few stories.. Our Daughter got up and told some stories and funny ones at that.. She told me how much her Dad loved me and our son.. It was very nice..
I reversed the giving of the single long stem red rose that Ken had always given me on special occasions and not special occastions.. I laid one on his urn.
It was a very emotional day.. Ken's childhood best friend who was also his best man when we got married came from out of town as did his bf from highschool.. My gf from school and who lived across the road while growing up came. I hadn't seen her in 37 years.. so many people and faces it was really good..
It's quiet and lonely here today it's raining to boot so can't even go sit outside..
I was always so very proud of my man but after all the tributes and stories I heard of him yesterday that pride is bigger and bigger now..
He left his mark on all who knew him for sure.
