Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Ok, I am going to do this. I am going to go to a dinner tonight with other widows/widowers for the first time. I am excited but dreading it at the same time. Hopefully the people are as kind and helpful as you all here. I am also trying to find a group therapy sessions to help me cope with this. But there doesn't seem to be a whole lot out by me that has nothing to do with religion and god is the last thing I want to hear about right now. I hope tonight goes well.

Now I have 60+ members from ages 27 to 80+ - the journey bonds us. Some are 'newbies' (widowed less than a year) others are veterans (11 yrs+) Gerald222 is my new co-organizer.
I've seen some members really 'blossom' and come out of their shells as they discover new friends and rediscover a life outside. It's wonderful, and such a gift for me to witness.
Keep going - you may find more younger members joining - I was surprised by how many we were getting, all ages and stages.
