Are we supposed to?

I receive email alerts when I get a response to a journal entry, or a friend writes a journal entry and when I get a hug or msg. However, I too, don't get email alerts on discussion posts. Bizarre. I was just thinking about this earlier today. I have no clue.

It is one of those things that has to be re-programmed and is being worked on. I don't get them either, which is frustrating for me as well, especially as a CL, as the CLs sometimes have to monitor volatile threads.

I am still getting my Daily Digest e-mail and my Community Update e-mail. Are you set-up for those? And are you receiving them? Just curious if I need to report anything additional to the DS Tech team.

I've been with this group for five years. In the early days I got emails. We also had a chat feature that was accessible from any page. Then they did a software update and both features disappeared. No one gets them now.

I used to get them a long time ago I don't anymore.

Daily Digest? Community Updates?

If you click on "My Account" in the box on the left side of your screen, among the items you can select on your account page is how you get activity e-mailed to you. If you choose a Daily Digest you get an e-mail with that, and there are choices for group activity.

This is also the page where your privacy settings are done. I keep my Profile set to "DS Members Only" so other members can find me and see what I am about, but non-members can't read my Profile page.

My Journals are locked to "Friends Only" and the majority of my Photos are locked to "Friends Only" as well. This keeps them moderately private and out of the search engines. These settings have worked very well for me for years.

Some people set everything to "Private" which means if they aren't on my Friends list, I can't even hug them. If you are more comfortable that way, so be it, but it doesn't work for me.

I get community updates and friend updates but not posts I'm "watching"

Thanks Martha, added weekly digest and checked my privacy settings. Knew there had to be an answer!! :)

I just noticed that my community alerts and daily digests were going into my trash box (which I never check). Problem fixed.

It's always so nice when something gets fixed! :)
