Wed was a hard day for me for months. But it is getting easier that sometimes a wed will pass and then I won't even realize it was wed until its already thurs.
My therapist says if there was days that is harder ,do something to spend your time different then the way you use to.
whatever works and stick with it.
I wonder if others have the same issues?
You're right about putting one foot in front of another. We often referred to it as baby steps. Getting through the day and at times, getting through the moment is all we can do for now. Sharon
Now if I am alone on Saturday, I often find myself crying a bit. "Poor me" and I have to ask God to get me beyond that.
Al passed on a Sunday but Sunday for me continues to be church in the morning and oftentimes breakfast after with a friend.
I miss him every day.
Your lack of focus, wandering thru the house trying to accomplish something bring back memories to all of us who have been there. My husband was ill with leukemia for 2 yrs. and I thought I was "prepared" for his death. WRONG. I learned that we are never prepared. I was totally shocked when nothing was accomplished, that I couldn't read a book for months, My heart aches for you, because I know how that "raw pain" feels. I lost Frank 7 yrs. ago, and the pain is much less - thankful to say. I will always miss his presence after being married for 50 yrs. Now on Sunday I go eat lunch with several other widows after church. That way, I'm not in the house as long. I never turn on football games - except when the N.O. Saints played in the Super Bowl. He was such a Saints fan, I wanted to see the game "for him."
DS is a good place to find encouragement and understanding. There are also good books on grief, if you feel like reading. If you have a friend who enjoys movies, perhaps she will go with you on a Sunday afternoon. Even going out for coffee will be a break from the emptiness of home right now.
Wishing you peaceful days - Doye
Saturday nights were movie night. We'd rent a couple movies make a special snack sit in the dark like a movie house and enjoy. Our Date Night even atr 39 years together. Will be 5 yrs. On March 11th still hard.
Try to have my grandson 10yrs stay over or my Great-grandsons 5 and 7.
Rest of the week is same old same old
Now she's not.
I find myself wandering as well. I'm keeping up on the dishes and kitchen cleaning pretty well, my laundry is another story.
The house is straight, for the most part.
It's quiet. It's lonely. It's hard.
He saw the flowers but didn't know what they were. He smelled the roses but couldn't distinguish them from a noodle. It was horrifically painful to watch.
So why are Sunday's so hard because they fell after Saturday and Morey hadn't a clue and I knew it was the day we married and spent so much time together, loving and sharing.

Sunday was our one day when we knew we would have the entire day together. That Sunday morning in July, my first thought was, what a beautiful day. Sunshine, birds chirping.. Where would we take our walk together today. Then, the horror of finding Sharry had passed during the night, of an aneurism.
Time has eased some of the dread I would feel as the weekend approached. Summer is now my least favorite season, and July cannot pass quickly enough. You will slowly develope a new routine on Sunday, as well as holidays and other days that were special to the two of you. The sharpness, and frequency of the pain decreases, but never leaves completely, nor would we ever want it too. Gratitude, and memories that bring a smile, begin to ease the pain as we slowly adjust to the life that has been forced upon us. Take your time, and know that all you feel is normal for the trauma you are passing through. Time and tears will help you heal. My best to you and all those who are dealing with this worst of heartbreaks.
