What it's like for them

Today, I attended a graduation party. It's been a little over 2 months since Mike died, so I figured.... There was a man there that I had never met. I introduced myself as Melanie. He said, "I know and I'm Paul." He looked very ill. Grayish skin color. He added," have you thought about where he is? I know where he is and it is wonderful! I've been there before! It's not like here. He won't want to come back. The love is different. Not like here. He loved you, but he won't want to come back here." It was weird. There have been times that I have gone out and I know I was recognized as "the young woman who lost her husband". But, this was different, yet the same. I think he was right. I asked about his experience and he said he was given a choice. He was shown things. Things he described but I couldn't understand. Then he said he didn't want to go there so he came back. Interesting....

Very strange..........I would have found it comforting too.
Everything happens for a reason.........weird that you didn't even know him and that's what he said. You were meant to get that message.

I would take that as a very strong sign. I know there are people who don't believe in such things, but I believe. That was an amazing encounter. Thanks for sharing this.

A couple of weeks ago, near the 6 week mark for me, I had a dream...I spoke to my soul mate...(keep in mind that we were never religious and I am not one to get all weird about paranormal signs). I know a lot of people dream about their loved ones after they pass, but this was very different; In this dream he came to me and we talked about being on the "other side"...I asked if he was alone, he told me he was not, I asked if he sees others as they arrive and he said he did, I asked if he was upset with me for not doing more to save him (he had liver cancer, although I did everything I could, and probably more than most would think to do I still have felt very defeated by this disease, and I have questioned many things since he's been gone), Anyway when I asked him that question, he looked at me, and smiled-it was the same smile he gave me when he was home under hospice care-it was a smile that I had never really seen in the 25 yrs we were together, it was a sincere, like " I appreciate you and its gonna be alright" smile...when I woke up, I have to say I felt so much better knowing in my heart that he was not alone, and that he was safe and not upset with me....

I also believe, you have to be open and look for all the signs. Last week I was very stressed, did a lot of crying. I went out one day and the license plate in front of me read U B CALM. I took that as a sign from my beloved and I have been calm since:)

If it comforted you, I am glad. It was a gift you needed and thats good. I'm glad you shared it with us so others can find their own peace in it or let it go if it doesn't relate to them. For me, I think I would need to be there. Hearing about it leave me speechless, which doesn't happen often Lol. Sharon

This had me stumped between a messenger of hope & a synchronicity ~

I'd say he was a self proclaimed messenger of hope since he knew there was the possibility of you attending ~

What I thought was odd is that he said he didn't want to go there so he came back. Not sure if he was impllying he had an actual NDE, in any case, from what I have been told by 2 people is that they came back from having a spiritual experience of supreme love & joy. We all experience things differently?

Anywhoo, I'm glad he was there to bring you comfort ~

Try to smile at a pleasant thought or laugh at a good joke to activate your nuerons ~

I believe him. I've known three people who've had death experiences. They were all people I trust. They've each described a beautiful place and said they were given a choice about coming back. They didn't want to come back, but did it for their loved ones. I don't think everyone gets a choice. At some point we all must go. I've never heard of anyone living to be 130.

There are plenty of books on the subject. I read one written by the father of a boy who'd seen Heaven. He told his father what he'd seen.

My mother-in-law, who was the most rightous , loving, giving woman I have ever met, said after her last open heart surgery. She was scared to death, when she woke (yes, they lost her for only a few minutes).... Said she saw Hell, and she didn't want to go there.....

That is some really interesting conversation. His saying he knew who you were-for me that might have scared me a bit. BUT If you are happy with the message then I believe that it is wonderful!
