I am so tired. Got up early drove with other drivers and their rigs, We went to near Chelan, WA where many have lost their homes, animals, pets, etc.
Took out horses I have a 4 horse trailer we loaded 7! Tightly but we did it, they seem so tired and dazed very smoky. They survived, some showed bruising, maybe some burns, than a load of goats....took to a ranch an hour away.
88 fires in PNW. A friend has a sister in area.
I saw some dead goats, and deer. Was not close to homes lost but trees and vegetation. We ate and drove home.
On Chinook Pass we are on Red Fire Alert into Sunday. WIndy and smoky due to Cougar Creek Fire near Glenwood, WA.
Idaho - Oregon - WA all have governors asking for Disaster status

This fire in Twisp, WA is near where my friend's house was saved right up to his back yard last year. He is waiting it out as most is already burnt around him.
I think I better get some sleep. My friends signed my pickup and trailer up for areas we can go in. We had to show insurance etc.

So it saddens me to see all the wild fires/lives lost/devastation ...
Always loved the Winthrop area. So very beautiful.

I hope and pray you and your friends and animals will all be okay. I am also saddened by the loss of the firefighters. It is an incredible job they do, and so so so dangerous. You're right, it is all so humbling.

In MT, we had a lighting storm several days ago that ignited 50 something fires, most are contained. However, still getting smoke from surrounding states that just lingers. It's a constant reminder that although we are spared here, there are others that suffer. I know it's part of the natural process of death and re-birth with Mother Earth, but it's still sad to think about.
