I'm headed on a cruise tomorrow with my very best girlfriend.  It is a start to what would have been our "anniversary week" when we would have gone away.  I was really excited until last night, I was packing for the trip and I just broke down.  It hit me he wasn't coming and wouldn't be there (at least in person).  I had this box of clothes he had picked out and ordered for me right before he passed away that I until a week ago had not opened (almost 6 months later).  I packed a couple of the dresses and I'll wear them but its not the same.  I intend to have a good time, its what he would want, its what his parents want, they have been so worried because I haven't taken time off to relax since he passed.  So I'll "see" you next week.  Bon Voyage!

Hope you have a great time. I know it's very hard since I lost my wife. It is a good step of moving on to make the most of the rest of your life. I hope you have a great time.

I recently got back from short trip. I found it really helpful to have had a bit of a break from the realities of life. Hope you have a great time and get that much needed break.

Have a wonderful cruise!!!!!. You deserve to get away and enjoy and you will. Cruises are the best.

A cruise sounds great!! Have a great, relaxing, peaceful time. .. The first trip I took after my husband passed, was difficult, but I needed to take a trip back to Britain, and it really did me good .....

I hope you have a wonderful time! I will be going to Reno with my BFF at the end of the month. It seems so strange to think about being on a plane without Fred, but I think it will be good for me to get past this hurdle. Enjoy every minute!

I wish you good times on your cruise. I recently returned from 'our' dream trip to Africa which my husband didn't get to take because he died of cancer. I wore the safari clothing we picked out together and left his set hanging in the closet at home. Life is a challenge, isn't it! The trip was super and I learned a ton, (even did alittle mission work with it) but I did think every now and then of how he'd have loved this, I was taking this trip to finish his dream. So it was a bit sad .....and I think I know how you feel. I believe the next trip will be better because the first one alone is behind me. Tonight I attended my first (friend's daughter's) wedding dinner and dance without my husband. It was just as hard, because I LOVE to dance and cannot stand to sit there listening to dance music and have no partner. So I left with tears in my eyes when I drove away. Life is indeed tough. However, I am capable of dancing and should be grateful to be healthy considering my husband was not and it was terminal. I try to look at the bright side. It is just a burden within and I wanted to share tonight my sadness. Thankfulness, happiness yet sadness. Your trip is a step ahead for you as well I hope it was wonderful at many times.

Enjoy your time on the cruise. Bring something of Chad's that will bring you comfort - I'm sure you thought of it already.
