The other day I was looking at my MIL fb page. we don't get along...my husband really didn't get along with her either. in the last seven years we saw her 3 times. (But if she tells it they were BFF). On her fb page she wrote that she got a text from my husbands number and it made her breakdown and how could someone be so cruel...I guess that someone would be me since I have his phone? The later she had added that she didn't think it was meant to be mean but it upset her. I texted her because my husbands phone has been turned off since he passed away. The account is still active because I just haven't had the heart to cancel his phone plan. but I have only turned his phone on a few times in the last few months to transfer pic from his phone to mine. She insists she got the texts from his number that it popped up with his name on the caller id. i didn't believe her because she is not always honest. she forwarded me the text and it is one that my dad sent me a month ago about picking up a pizza on the way home. my dad doesn't have my MILs number. That is so weird. My dad does hit a lot of random buttons on accident at work...a lot of butt calls. but i have no idea how a text my dad sent me could get forward to my MIL under my husbands number. She said she thought it was him telling her he is ok. i personally don't believe in an afterlife or signs. But if i did i would think it would be his way of getting back at her for some of the things she has said to me by freaking her out. But regardless it is strange. and although i don't really believe maybe ill just cut me some slack and take it as a sign.

I got a text on the 10th from my SIL informing it was "6 months ago yesterday." Right! Thanks for pointing that out, I had NO idea when my husband died and would be clueless if it weren't for her keen powers of the obvious. :P
I couldn't think of anything to reply that was fit to print so I just sat on my hands til the urge passed and left it unresponded to.
As I was typing this I tried to think of some explanation for your MIL's message. That really is bizarre. And I have developed a great affinity for that which can not be explained these days. Thanks for sharing. ((()))
Still, it's all weird sometimes, isn't it? Don't let it get to you. And I wonder if what Sharon said might be happening, too.

The message was from your dad to your phone. Then that exact same text message got sent from your husband's phone to his sister.
The only way that would be possible ( without intervention by a third party ) would be if he sent it to your husband's phone as well, then somehow when you turned his phone on a random series of events forwarded the message to his sister.
1) it is possible he copied his son in on the pizza message by accident and you would not know ( some phones don't show if a message has multiple recipients, and some phones will actually send them out as separate messages )
2) your husband probably has his sister's number stored
3) so it is possible that you somehow accidentally forwarded the message to his sister -unlikely, but possible.
Since she has the message from his phone then that must be what happened. Why his sister would make a big deal out of it is surprising - technology is full of goofs and who knows what really happened.
I am sorry that his sister is causing you problems. She probably misses him too, and regrets that she did not spend more time with him.
