A friend whose father died had a special ceremony at the rehearsal supper during which they lit a large candle for her father, then smaller ones for other family and friends who could not be there on their special day.
Another couple I knew had a stand at the church, and a large photo of the grooms mother on it - both bride and groom went over and kissed the picture before the ceremony started as a way of silently acknowledging her presence in spirit.
Yes it's sad their father cannot be there in person, but there may be a way, a symbol, picture, item of clothing, that they can use to represent his presence. Hope this helps.
Neither my stepson nor my stepdaughter are yet married, so I may have that to come. I am sad that my husband never got to meet my stepson's girlfriend and know that my MIL is sad I never met my FIL.
I hope the wedding will bring you much joy. Your husband will be there watching over you and your family. Hugs to you.
