It's been a year and a day since my dear husband was taken to hospital and never came home.

A year and a day and now our house is up for sale. Strange how this sounds like the title of a song or a movie or an initiation.

My husband hasn't been home in a year and a day and when I mentioned this to some family members, I was met with "oh? has it been this long?"

Ive had people say the same thing...not close friends..they know when he died. I hope everything goes well with the sale of your home. Hugs..Debbie

I get weird looks from friends and neighbors when I say 8 months 15 days. So I just say 8 1/2 months....
I wish you well with the sale of your house, I am leaning towards selling my place, I love it here where there are trails, deer and the elk but things are just getting me down: memories and things going wrong. Also finances...sigh
I feel its been so long some days/and some days like it was yesterday. (Hugs)

Only we spouses count the minutes, hours, days, months years and the day after one year. Our new time frame is now AD, after the death. I think we even wonder at the time that has passed thinking "has it been that long" it seems so recent yet it seems like so long without them.
I too am getting ready to sell my home. I have gone through much debate over to do so or not but my recent emergency home repair was a very convincing point.
I wish you well in your sale and move and as you make your way on this journey.
