That is truly fantastic. My son and I went out for dinner last year. Don't know what we're going to do this year, but it will be a celebration of a great man's life!

My step daughter moved out around Christmas and I haven't heard from her since. She is our only one. My wife and I had no biological kids of our own.
I use to dread another day, but your right another day brings me a day closer to being with her again.

Next week will be 4 years since my husband passed. This year, in September he would have turned 65 years old. One evening I was sitting and going through Pinterest and a thought came to me. Why not have a Celebration of Life birthday party for him. His birthday is the 15th and I thought maybe a fiesta theme party would be fun. I ran it through my grown kids to see what they thought. I was really excited and started looking and pinning ideas to decorate and celebrate. It was helping me get through this month and the dreading of his anniversary of his passing. Then my oldest daughter told me what she really thought of the idea, which totally deflated my enthusiasm and brought me down. She thinks it is not a good idea and nobody celebrates birthdays of people who are deceased. So, I have since deleted my Pinterest party ideas and have decided to not hurt any of my kids feelings by doing anything that they do not approve of. I will personally have a celebration on my own, by myself and hopefully get through the day alright. My kids and their families have helped my get through these past 4 years and I love each and every one of them. My husband was an awesome husband of 40 years and a great Dad. I will celebrate his life!

I feel the same but could not have put into words better.
I no longer fear death however The Sexy Lady provided in our kids and grand kids a counter balance that inspires me to I go on living. My belief in God reassures me there is no need to rush. She will be there when i get there.
