Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I would suggest checking to see if anyone on this site is from your area, but if you post about wanting to get together I am sure you will get a responce.
The first get together I went to was in Iowa and was originally thought to be a local gathering. Instead there were people from Florida, Oklahoma, Maine, Canada,Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Idaho, Washington State and I know I am missing some.
I hope this helps with your question.
Have a peaceful day
Cathy
Back to the topic........
I think we just get used to being alone or find new things or friends to fill our time.
You are very lucky violet, you have a job, & friends to go place with.
I did the support groups and no one wants to do anything, I'm 20 miles from anywhere and that's about as far as I care to drive. There are no jobs here ...........especially for the senior type.
So days I just don't know what to do, and have no one to do it with.
That's why I got a dog.
Yes, we are just alone.
I guess I really should look into joining some clubs or something, the rest of my life sounds boring.
