Well Eukeka!! I finally have a death certificate, in fact two of them. I have been getting the run around for weeks now. So today the Scorpio came out in me. Was told the other day that the mail does not reach the funeral home until between 3 and 5. So I called at 4:55 yesterday and got yet another funeral director who explained to me again what had caused the delay. duh. Said he would have Stephanie call vital records first thing this morning. So I called Vital records and of course got voicemail but they called me back within 10 minutes. Told me since I hadn't requested them it would have to be the funeral home that did. I explained to her that the person I talked to last Friday said the form had been corrected and if they hadn't been sent Thursday they would go out Friday. She told me that I should never have been told that info since I was not the one ordering them. So I asked her since I have a son that Lives there in Lincoln could he come get one. She said yes since he is a son he could pay the 16 bucks and get one. Well son had to be out of town so I called the funeral home and told them that since no one seems to see the importance of this document except me I would be leaving in an hour to make the 93 mile trip to get one myself. And she said she had tried to call them too this morning but they hadn't called her back. I said oh really, they called me back in ten minutes, goodbye and hung up. Shortly after I get a call from funeral home, didn't answer but was told by the director I spoke with yesterday that they did hear back from vital records and they should be in the mail today. Well I wasn't waiting for snail mail, I have waited seven weeks. So hopped in the car and headed 93 miles. Filled out the form and was waiting for them to process my request when yet another call comes from the funeral home. Didn't answer, but secretary called and said the death certificates came in the mail today and I could pick them up whenever I wanted to. Oh really didn't think the mail got there til between 3 and 5 and this was 1:47. Didn't call them back and if i do happen to speak with them I will tell them I no longer need them and they can shove them up their ass with a pitchfork as far as I am concerned. I know this is lenghty, but I needed to vent. And of course I cryed the whole way home, but do have an appointment with my husbands financial guy on Monday. Thank you all for caring.
