Been Single (Widow) for two years is enough, this is the right time for me to move on with a woman who will respect, love and understand me. I have the heart to give and love again. I really want a woman to grow old with and to start a perfect life from the New Year 2017; I’m not getting any younger anymore. Spending this Christmas was hard because no one to share and to go out with, I truly love shopping and Cooking, I miss those days but we have more days ahead and can do more when I start new life with the woman God gives me. I’m a God fearing man. Time will tell. Merry Christmas. :)

Thanks for your very honest post and for commenting about the woman that God will give you. I truly believe that the Lord wants us to be happy. Of course, it's everyone's individual choice about how long to wait before dating again after the loss of a spouse but if you feel that you are ready and have prayed on it, I say God speed to seeking your happiness. Here's to a fantastic 2017!

We must continue to do whatever we need to do to find happiness, adjust to this new life. I am not sure how this is going to work for me, but I will be determined to find peace again. It will never be the same, but my husband would never want me to be forever sad. He was a very upbeat, happy person even during the 7 yrs. of all he endured as a result of cancer. I am very new at this part of my new journey, but a good, positive attitude is always best even when going through these horrible changes. God wants us to be happy. My husband always had a good, positive attitude to. I am grateful for the 28 great years we had together. We all wish it could last forever, but that's not how life works.

I'm at that point to. I lost my wife a little over a year ago. And I have always known in my heart that Lyn would want me to move on when I'm ready and rebuild this life till it's my time. I understand completely what your saying. But as much as I would like to find a special someone, I also know there are some real strange ones out there. So like you I am letting God guide me in this. He did before and the lady He sent me was incredible. I was truly blessed with her.

Tim, I know how you feel, I lost Luise about a year ago, I know no one will replace her in my heart but I know there must be a God fearing woman out there. There are a lot if fish in the ocean but a high percentage seem to be sharks. I trust the Lord to steer me in the right direction and maybe her can send the right woman my way.

It will only be 6 months on 2/27/17 that I lost my husband. We were married 36 yrs (almost, missed it by 2 weeks). I just wanted to share a Bible verse that keeps me breathing during this time: "For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you Hope and a Future" Jeremiah 29:11 It was written for the Jews but God's word applies to all that belong to Him. If we are truly His, He will provide, we just need to follow Him.

My mate was such a miracle (I waited 50 years) that I have trouble believing anyone can ever see me the way he chose to. After seven years, I was just starting to accept that he really did see me as beautiful and my imperfect love was received and believed by him. Marriage is an incredible gift, but can that ever be given twice? I've told the Lord I would like to believe it cause I really enjoyed marriage...to a man who loved the Lord first and chose to see me as a cherished blessing. I pray that I will not succumb to need, but will only respond to God's plan. Jeremiah 29:11 is a flagship for me too, azsunshine. My spirit is believing, but my flesh is weak.
