It is so ironic that I would post a similar post as "just me." My husband passed away July 27, 2013. It was a second marriage for the both of us. We were together 36 years, and in the home we bought together 21 years. I just found out after making a casual call to our mortgage lender that he had bought this house as the sole borrower and only his name is on the mortgage. I was shocked, as I had no idea all these years he was the only one. I have been paying our mortgage since he died, not noticing whenever they sent the statement, that it said "the estate of". So I am consulting a real estate lawyer, because at almost 76 years old, I want to move into a senior apartment, where I don't have to walk up 27 steps as I do in my four level home, pay a landscaper, pay for outside maintenance and doing many updates since he left me. What I am concerned about is the emotional toll it will cause me after seeing some of our family grow up celebrating birthdays and the holidays we spent there, these past 21 years. I am praying for "Just me" that all will go well as she goes to the next chapter in her life.
