Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
The problem for all of us reading this forum right now is that we can only deal with that nanosecond, so it is difficult.
I fully agree that there is not only comfort, but strength and assistance, in a religious perspective.
Someone humorously posted that she was not on speaking terms with God right now, but that is ok, God can take it. When you least expect it, God will carry your non-speaking-to-God self past the hardest parts.
No preaching intended here. Those beleifs give me great comfort.

For me right now I only see one set of footprints in the sand.

Chris' birthday was in August and I posted something not exactly the same but similar...that his death was not about me...even though the loss and pain make it seem like it is about me...what it really is about is Chris' relationship with God and God's promise to one day take Chris home to heaven. God's timing is not ours...nor are His ways our ways...so even though I feel it was too soon...it was God's timing to take Chris home. And you are right, our husbands were just gifts God allowed us to have for a period of time...but they were always ultimately HIS. Thanks again for the reminder. God bless.
Sending you a (((hug))) on this special day. Our lives changed so much when our spouses past away. I have always said that God sent Richard into my life when I needed him, and when it was time for him to leave God also had a plan. We all have our moments and ask why, but I also feel that is the human part of us. Deep down, our religious part knows that God is in control, and he will see us through.
God Bless Susan
.....but He sure felt like mine for a long time.
