My husband died May 19, 2017, which was a Friday. The Monday of the same week my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer. I thought that I had grieved for my husband. Yeah, there were bag days, but I got through. After my mom surgery to remove the tumor, she came home with me, and I took care of her. My sweet amazing mom passed yesterday without much severing. I feel everything that I felt after my husband's death all over again like I had never grieved. Now with my mom gone it's all I can do not to be overwhelmed by the lost. Two people that were key in my life are gone. It hurts, and I don't want to feel all this raw emotions and emptiness. Where ever you turn you're reminded that Christmas is around the corner. The next person that tells me Happy Holiday's should just turn and run. It's not their issue, but they are in the line of fire.

The really bad moments of pain are starting to be taken over by the memories of the good times and the pictures and videos really seem to comfort me. Sometimes the pictures bring on waves of sorrow and pain, the reality of the loss of those precious times can hurt a lot too.
Coming home to the empty, quiet, seeming dead house everyday is the worst now. I have found that leaving the tv playing helps a little and makes the lifeless empty feel not so bad when I open the door. We each have to find our own little tricks make the hard times a little easier.
My best to you, Eddie
I can relate a little...my brother was diagnosed with glioblastoma on 1/9/17. He had surgery, radiation and chemo. He is actually getting a follow-up MRI today and I'm hardly breathing while waiting to hear if the tumor is back. Then my husband was diagnosed with cancer (didn't know the origin) on 11/5/17, 20 days later, he was gone. They told us it was pancreatic cancer just one week before he passed.
I'm so terribly sorry. The overwhelming hurt is unspeakable...but even more unspeakable this time of year, that's supposed to be filled with joy, love and family. I'm sending you cyber hugs...for whatever it's worth.
