I have a very dear friend who lost her husband 5 years ago. He was cremated and she has his ashes in an urn that looks like a book.

She draws comfort from talking to them and she likes having him near by.

I told my kids, when I die, they can cremate me, and bury both my husband and I together, with one headstone. It would be of their chosing, since it would be them paying their respects. I think there should always be something in stone, that you lived and died.

Although I would have liked to be buried next to my wife, the last time we talked about something like that a long time ago she said she would like to be creamated and buried next to her mother who was very special to both of us. I felt I had to respect her wishes so I was able to get a plot right next to her mother but there are no others there. It means I will have to be buried somewhere else, possibly in a different cemetary. It doesn't really matter to me because once I leave the shell behind I'll find her. Hopefully she'll be waiting for me but it doesn't matter where my body is. I know the spirit world is not limited by our body placement.

I fulfilled my husband wish to have his ashes on the Shawangunk Mountains by scattering some under a mountain laurel bush. I also had a portion of them put in a necklace that I wear and some in an urn clock that our daughter has. Her portion of his ashes are from a request he used to make saying 'he would sit on her mantle after he died.'. There are also some on my parents grave, because they loved him so much too. And some at the North Shore of Boston in a town called Rockport, Mass.

I guess you could say he is all around the places he loved and the places that meant something to him in life. But do you realize where he really is? Right inside of my heart and soul. Put his ashes where you decide for wherever the ashes are, he or she remain with you forever.

My husband had requested his ashes be scattered in several places and the last of them buried in the cemetery where my Father and sister are buried. I also have kept some to be placed in my urn to be buried with me. I will also have some of my ashes scattered in the same places as my husband's were. They are scattered from Aruba to Maine. In all the places he loved and cherished most. This way I feel he is part of these places he loved so much and when I visit them he is there with me.

Franks ashes are to be scattered with mine.My avatar picture which l have at the moment,is similar to were we will both end up,deep in the middle of a bluebell woods,there will be no markers,but l have told my kids to take a photo of our final resting place.

My husband was creamated. I wanted to spread the ashes somewhere, but my step-daughter wanted some place to go so she could visit and talk to him. I finally decided to put his ashes in a urn and store it in the vault(? ) they have at the cementary. The remains are in a glass enclosure with his name on it. I understand it's a peaceful place but I'll never visit.

I was going to keep Larry`s ashes until I passed away and bury us together but my son really needed to have a private place to go to talk to his dad. Larry planned his funeral with me during his illness and he decided he wanted to be buried with my dad which leaves one place for me. I am glad we did this because my son and him had a strained relationship for many years in his teens (although they did have a few good years together before Larry died). He visits Larry regularily because it gives him comfort. I have never been....just talk to him here. Nicker sounds like your husband is in a calm peaceful place, Hugs Lu Ann

My husband passed away it will a year in May. He wanted to be cremated so that what I did. My son brought a beauitful urn that looks like a picture frame. So I have him right next to my bed. It looks like just a picture. I can say good morning and good night all the time.

My husband was cremated and I keep his ahes in a beautiful urn in my bedroom on the dresser. Somehow it's comforting to have him close by. When I die our ashes will be buried together. Until then, he is still at home with me.
