It's like a train coming in the dark out of
nowhere and it hits you and knocks you off
your feet and you cry and cry. Think of this
happening over and over every day....
That is what it's like when the other
part of you dies :(

Feels like you've been somewhere else on the days your coming out of it. Before the next wave hits. I pray things will get better for us all.

I think that train rolls over me at least two or three times
a day.

Today I thought about the old movie" Groundhog Day "
with Bill Murray. It was a dark comedy where he kept
reliving " Groundhog Day " every day for 8 or so years.

I think I am living the horror version of " Groundhog Day "
as yesterday and the day before are virtually the same
as today. I keep waking up each morning and expecting
a different day ( with her here ) but the previous day
seems to repeat itself almost to the last detail. Same
intense pain. Same triggers, Same loneliness for her, the
same tears and so forth.

That train keeps coming.

I come to this site after my husband died July 27, 2013. I never thought I would be where I am today. The time will pass, whether you want it to or not. For months I thought I could make it pass quickly, so I moved furniture and cleaned my house daily. I ended up in the emergency room because I thought I had had a heart attack. Grief cannot be rushed. So I started doing projects and one was putting together a photo journal. I loved to take pictures and so I would put them in categories and I put them in order from time we met until his sickness took him from me. It was a type of therapy and made me reflect on our life together through pictures and comments, how silly he was, our conversations, our travels and other occasions. I want to encourage you to get up, get dressed and get out. I am praying for you to be strengthen, to be comforted and most of all have the peace that you need on this journey. I am confident that you will not just survived, but you will thrive. I continue to keep this forum in my daily prayer. My friend at church lost her husband last friday and she is trying her best to show everyone how strong she is and the reality is, he is dead and she has to take care of her duties at the church. All of us who have gone through are praying for her, because she doesn't' have a clue about the grief roller coaster she is soon to encounter. There were married for almost 40 years.
